- Hauling brush and wood from the work area to the fleet vehicle
- Assisting the tree climber by running ropes on the ground
- Using various hand and power tools
- Making sure the job site is left neat and tidy
What you’ll need to succeed:

What you’ll be doing (not limited to):
- Safe daily production including, but not limited to tree climbing, pruning and tree removal
- Gear and Pre-climb inspections
- Safe climbing techniques, limb walking, proper work positioning, rope installation
- You would work directly with the crew leader
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Enthusiastic, open minded, and a willingness to learn
- An industrial athlete with a great attitude and LOVE of trees
- A valid driver’s license is required, CDL would be a plus!
- Experience with proper pruning practices including large shade trees and ornamentals
- Ability to properly identify tree and shrub species, and have a working knowledge of each species’ characteristics
- Ability to climb without spurs
- Experience with tree care safety standards
- Practical knowledge of chainsaw and equipment operation
- Experience with aerial lifts (bucket truck)

What you’ll be doing (not limited to):
- Making and maintaining client contact during all aspects of work order.
- pruning and removing trees.
- Installation of tree support systems.
- Start of the day duties, including vehicle inspections, reporting and participating in territory meetings,
- Developing strategy and delegating crew responsibilities around all aspects of tree removal, pruning, inspecting to execute jobs safely and accurately
- Uphold our company value of safety by using necessary tools properly and following all safety protocols
- Perform end of the day duties including reporting of any liability or unresolved work items, accurate recording of crew member hours worked, safety and maintenance of all vehicles and equipment used by crew members
- Provide mentoring to trainees as requested
- Safe operation and maintenance of variety of aerial lifts
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in professional climbing role
- Enthusiastic, open minded, and a willingness to learn

At Heartwood Tree Care, our Sales Arborist are the frontline of Heartwood’s customer experience. As such, Sales Arborist play a pivotal role in shaping how our clients perceive our unique brand.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) paired with good listening skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Resourcefulness, attentiveness, detailed-orientation with an ability to learn new systems and processes in a high-paced environment
- Utilize sales process tools, software, and other technologies to streamline the process for clients
- Account management skills; familiarity with a sales funnel, quotas, reporting and tracking
- Ability to type 40 words per minute; familiarity with mobile and desktop computing systems to include but not limited to Google Suite, messaging management (phone or email).
- Extensive knowledge of General Tree Work and Plant Health Care
- ISA Certified Arborist, TRAQ (ability to become TRAQ qualified within 6 months)
What you’ll be doing (not limited to):
This role is primarily responsible for visiting with residential clients and prospects, evaluating their tree and plant health care needs and providing estimates in a timely and professional manner. Sales Arborist are trusted advisors for the property owner and often become an integral part of the environment you will service.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and educate clients based on their tree and plant health care needs in accordance with industry standards (ANSI A300).
- Provide well written estimates to include scope of work and directives for Operations and/or Clients.
- Supervise work performed as needed, checking in with crews and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Communicate any invoices changes with Finance or scope of work changes with Operations.
- Problem solving with clients and internal staff according to company policy.
- Touch base with clients post work performed on any outstanding issues and/or balances.
- Correspond with clients with urgency, maintain and grow positive client relationships.
- Achieve personal sales goals and quotas.
- Attend sales meetings and training sessions.
- Keep your own personal sales records and notes necessary to maintain an organized account of dealings with prospects, clients and others.
- Work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
