Eriophyid Mites

Eriophyid Mites

March 15, 2014 Bugs and Crud

Eriophyid mites are microscopic creeps that like to feed on the foliage of your trees and shrubs.  These little mites (different than spidermite) can distort the foilage of species like Leyland cypress and junipers.  Their feeding can mimic leaf spot diseases on trees such as flowering pear.

These little creeps are early in the early spring months, before it gets too hot.  Now is the time to treat with foilar applied miteicides
